Naturally, competing brands had no choice but to retaliate. This new model kept the coveted Boost foam, but added more cushioning and a grippy, flexible Continental rubber outsole. Two years after the EnergyBoost dropped, Three Stripes upped the ante again with the release of the Ultraboost-the brand’s plushest and bounciest shoe yet. With direction from RW editors, I combine all that info to choose what shoes make it onto this page. To write articles like this, I talk with brand reps about the company’s latest shoes and tech, consult RW tester feedback, and draw on my own experience with the running shoe industry. Running shoes is the category of gear I’ve written about the most, and I have firsthand experience with models from a range of brands. The Expert: I became a runner in middle school and have covered running and outdoor gear for years, both on-staff at Runner’s World and as a freelance journalist.
7/31/2023 0 Comments Superflex draft strategyBaker Mayfield) and a strong running back on the bench with a good matchup, I can live with starting the running back. That said, if you have a marginal quarterback (i.e. Quarterbacks score the most points in fantasy football, so I strongly encourage you to use them whenever possible as your flex. Often, I get asked whether fantasy football managers should be using a quarterback in the Superflex position. This is critical as we all know that the key to winning fantasy championships is to build depth at the skill positions. It also allows you to continue to build your skill position players as you go along your drafts. So long as the addition results in 24 you should be successful. With this strategy, you can take Patrick Mahomes or Josh Allen as your first starter and then come back with someone like Davis Mills or Mac Jones as your second quarterback. Then as 9 + 15 = 24 I am good to go with my “24” strategy.Ģ4 can be made up in a variety of ways. One of them should end up as a top-15 overall QB. Then I might later select Jared Goff and Jameis Winston, two of my deep sleepers at the QB position. For instance, I might start a Superflex draft with Russell Wilson (my ninth-ranked QB). Why is this number a critical one in Superflex leagues? 24 represents the combined rankings of the two quarterbacks I want to have as my starters in these leagues. I always refrain from that strategy since I think it leaves me with the cupboard bare at the skill positions.Ĭheck out Sleeper, the best app for fantasy football: leagues, immediate breaking news updates, customizable features and more! So Why Go All Jack Bauer? In many Superflex drafts, I'll see five teams take a quarterback in the first round, with one or two managers even taking quarterbacks with their first two picks. There are many different strategies that fantasy football managers employ in these drafts. This drastically changes the playing field as quarterbacks are even more valuable than they already are which can skew the draft greatly. Superflex leagues, for those of you who have never played, are leagues where a quarterback is allowed to be used in the flex position. Interestingly enough, the number 24 comes into play when I draft in Superflex leagues. Nothing matched Jack Bauer trying to save the world in 24 hours. I must admit, I used to love watching the television show 24 with Kiefer Sutherland. 7/31/2023 0 Comments Quit job due to covidIn a separate survey of 1,000 UK workers, almost a third said they’re planning to quit soon. Other studies turn up even bigger numbers, such as data from the Conference Board, which indicates this number may be 30% for US workers. And there’s good reason to believe attrition will continue, including outside the US: a PwC survey of more than 52,000 workers across 44 countries showed one-fifth plan to leave their job in the next year. At the end of March 2022, the Bureau of Labor and Statistics (BLS) showed a record high of 11.5 million job openings. The behaviour has spilled over into this year, too. In January 2019, there were roughly 7 million job openings in the US a year later, the number of open positions grew to 11.26 million. That’s more than half a million more than 2019’s monthly averages. Quit numbers were generally consistent throughout 2021, when an average of nearly 4 million people left their jobs each month. Jobs numbers tell the story of a quitting epidemic that just hasn’t subsided. And, say the experts, the extent to which the looming slowdown will affect these quit rates remains to be seen. People are also now looking at work and the role they want it to play in their lives in a different way, and switching to jobs that better align with their new values. While the pandemic served as the trigger, the seeds of the Great Resignation were sown well before – and until the deep-rooted factors causing workers to quit are addressed, resignations are unlikely to subside. Despite widespread predictions of a slowdown, data shows not only are people still leaving positions in spades, but many workers who haven’t resigned yet plan to do so in coming months.Įxperts suggest that two factors are fueling this trend. Even with Covid restrictions mostly lifted and the pandemic waning in many countries, the resignation letters are still piling up. And others quit for more money elsewhere, as the labour market tightened.īut something unexpected is happening now. 7/31/2023 0 Comments Freecad download freeyou need to save your project before using the pipe tool. Before that I did actual drafting on paper.įreeCAD is barely useable if you spend the time to learn all the pitfalls.Į.g. I’ve never been an expert at any CAD package.īut the first CAD I used was Autocad for DOS. You yourself are admitting freeCAD isn’t good enough by suggesting that you need to actively hinder people using other programs for it to be an option. It just isn’t good enough to replace other CAD software yet and definitely not for beginners, plus students won’t want anything to do with it since any companies they work for will probably use proper CAD software. If fusion 360, onshape and solidworks disappeared and everyone had to use freeCAD a lot of people would just stop using CAD and most new people would not stick with it long enough to see results, with any of those other options people would just learn to use the new software. It needs a lot of work to become a viable alternative, and by what I’ve seen development on it is pretty slow so it will probably be many years before it becomes a viable alternative. If freeCAD was good enough it would be a viable alternative but it is nowhere near being as good as even the free versions of other software. If freeCAD was a viable alternative then it would be able to stand on its own strengths and merits and would not need you to worsen other software for it to have a chance. That is something I would expect from large companies like Autodesk. I thought open source was all about freedom and choice yet you want to force people to move over to it by making it more difficult for them to use alternatives. That is a pretty bad attitude and view on it. I hope this is received as the constructive criticism that it is intended to be. (and every F360-related video you don’t make means more time for learning FreeCAD, or even making a FreeCAD-related introductory video to reinforce the new skills that you are learning. I will also second the comment by It may seem like a costly time investment now, but much better to get a head start before they inevitably change the terms. Even if your video tutorial doesn’t explicitly urge viewers to choose F360 instead of a FOSS alternative, the fact that it’s the featured tool in your demonstration will probably result in some people making the same choice and ending up where you are. Nobody is perfect, but there’s a difference between using a harmful product because it’s what you know and promoting a harmful product to new/aspiring designers. The less of a “network effect” that proprietary tools benefit from, the better. The same goes for helping other F360 users in forums, etc. Since you acknowledge that switching to FreeCAD is probably something you ought to do, but are intimidated about throwing away the time investment you’ve made in learning F360, why not at least try to save other people from your fate by refraining from posting video content that encourages them to adopt F360. I now see that you linked in a previous post to a video of yours that features Fusion 360. Thanks for your work on FOSS CNC control. Posted in Software Hacks Tagged cad, design, freecad, hinge, modeling, parts, restoration Post navigation It does have a steep learning curve (not unlike other CAD software) so it helps to have a video series like this if you’re only just getting started or looking to further hone your design skills, but the fact that it’s free and open-source make it extremely attractive compared to its competitors. One of the keys to FreeCAD is the various workbenches available that all have their own sets of tools, and being able to navigate between them is key to a build like this.įreeCAD itself is an excellent tool for anyone repairing old vehicles like this or those making 3D prints, designing floorplans for houses, or really anything you might need to model in a computer before bringing the idea into reality. This video goes about recreating a hinge on an old truck, so with the drawings in hand the part is essentially traced out using the software, eventually expanding it into all three dimensions using all of the tools available in FreeCAD. The build does assume that the original drawings or specifications for the part are still available, but with those in hand FreeCAD is capable of importing them and then the model scaling to match the original specs shown. shows us how to build our own replacement parts in FreeCAD in this series of videos. So, for something like restoring an old car, you might have to resort to fabricating replacement parts for your build on your own. Companies fail or get traded, technologies evolve, and there’s also an economic argument against creating parts for things that are extremely old or weren’t popular in the first place. As much as we might all like it if manufacturers supported their products indefinitely with software updates or replacement parts, this just isn’t feasible. 7/31/2023 0 Comments Congress vienna 2016Group section applicants will chair their respective groups. This fact conditions the discourse more than might be apparent in a scholarly culture increasingly influenced by the English language. The multilingualism of comparative literature is both a challenge and an opportunity: from its beginnings, the polymorphous diversity of world literature has constituted the attraction and wider reach of comparatist reading on the other hand, even the most accomplished polyglot comparatist can master only a relatively small range of languages. And language – both written and spoken – is not just the self-evident medium of all the objects of comparative literature, but also the indispensable meta-language of scientific discourse and literary terminology. The Chevrolet Trax does have some good attributes, including relatively roomy seating, a healthy complement of standard features and impressive crash test ratings. Handling and steering are also below par. The ride quality isn't all that great, either, as it can exhibit a fair amount of choppiness on rough roads.
